Angélica
About This Spot
Stepping into Angélica on Riobamba, you immediately sense the gentle hum of a familiar neighborhood spot where time slows just enough to savor simple pleasures. The air carries the comforting aroma of freshly baked dough mingling softly with the rich, warm hints of coffee brewing nearby. It’s a place where the rhythms of a bustling Buenos Aires street soften into a welcoming pause, inviting locals and visitors alike to settle in and feel at ease.
The space feels unpretentious yet thoughtfully cared for, where conversations flow easily over shared plates and where the staff’s kindness seems as essential as the food itself. It’s the kind of place where the occasional laughter from a nearby table spills warmly into your moment, and children’s joy is met with gentle smiles, making it clear this spot treasures human connection as much as its offerings.
Here, food feels intertwined with memory and everyday ritual. The perfumes of melted cheese and slow-toasted toppings create a comforting backdrop for those who come for a quick coffee break or linger for a casual meal. Empanadas—a small but soulful staple—are crafted with attention and a touch of playful innovation, surprising even the most seasoned local palates with flavors that feel surprising yet perfectly at home. The pizzas carry the signature of tradition, their edges crisped to just the right point, inviting you to fold a slice and share the moment quietly, without hurry.
As light shifts through the windows onto worn tables, Angélica quietly reveals itself not just as a place to eat, but as a thread in the fabric of its community. There’s a subtle reassurance here—a feeling that some things, like good company and honest food, remain cherished and steady amid the world’s constant motion.

I have taken it upon myself to try empanadas from all over Buenos Aires and theirs are my favourite by far! Delicious fillings and dough, many flavour options, and a great price compared to places nearby.

Amazing empenadas and good deals on empenadas and drinks. Great coffees. The lady who works here was so lovely to our children and the cakes are great too

We ordered empanadas from this place and found a new flavour Hawaiian which has jamon y anaña... previously I was skeptical about this but as I tasted my first Hawaiian empanada, I fell in love with it... me encanta... muy rico... I would definitely order again and recommend this to everyone...

The best empanadas for the best price! Pizzas are also good. Have been there many times and will always come back!
